Make animated GIF files
If you need to create and edit multiple-block GIF files -- especially for Web pages -- then check out the 32-bit version of GIF Construction Set for Windows. This graphics program (from the same folks that produce the shareware classic Graphics Workshop) lets you assemble GIF files containing image blocks, plain text blocks, comment blocks, and control blocks. It includes facilities to manage palettes and merge multiple GIF files. GIF Construction Set can create looped GIF animations for Netscape and create transparent, interlaced, and multiple-image GIF files. You can also add, edit, and delete comment blocks, and add nondestructive text to images as plain text blocks. An Animation Wizard creates animated GIF files quickly, plus animation sanity checking helps you avoid creating animations Netscape doesn't like. The program is a fully compliant Windows GIF viewer application that would make a good helper application for a World Wide Web browser or Mosaic client. A 16-bit version is also available.
